A controller is obtained by designing a set of controllers at operating points and then linearly interpolating controller values between them. However, little guidance has been provided in the literature for the selection of operating points. We use interval mathematics and a classical synthesis design approach to determine a near minimal set of design points and assess the quality of a gain scheduled controller. A sufficient condition for the assignment of the system closed loop poles is developed, and an algorithm for selecting the operating points is provided. An example is given to demonstrate the approach.

Fuzzy gain scheduling of PID controller for stiction compensation in pneumatic control valve
Inherent nonlinearities like, deadband, stiction and hysteresis in control valves degenerate plant performance. Valve stiction standouts as a more widely recognized reason for poor execution in control loops. Measurement of valve stiction is essential to maintain scheduling. For industrial scenarios, loss of execution due to nonlinearity in control valves is an imperative issue that should be t...
متن کاملDiscrete Blood Glucose Control in Diabetic Göttingen Minipigs
Abstract: Despite continuous research effort, patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1D) experience difficulties in daily adjustments of their blood glucose concentrations. New technological developments in the form of implanted intravenous infusion pumps and continuous blood glucose sensors might alleviate obstacles for the automatic adjustment of blood glucose concentration. These obstacles...
متن کاملOperating Room Scheduling Considering Patient Priorities and Operating Room Preferences: A Case Study
Operating rooms have become the most important areas in hospitals because of the scarcity and cost of resources. The present study investigates operating room scheduling and rescheduling considering the priority of surgical patients in a specialized hospital. The ultimate purpose of scheduling is to minimize patient waiting time, surgeon idle time between surgeries, and penalties for deviations...
متن کاملRobust gain-scheduled control of linear parameter-varying systems with uncertain scheduling parameters in the presence of the time-invariant uncertainties
In this paper, a new approach is presented to design a gain-scheduled state-feedback controller for uncertain linear parameter-varying systems. It is supposed that the state-space matrices of them are the linear combination of the uncertain scheduling parameters. It is assumed that the existed uncertainties are of type of time-invariant parametric uncertainties with specified intervals. Simulta...
متن کاملA discrete-event optimization framework for mixed-speed train timetabling problem
Railway scheduling is a complex task of rail operators that involves the generation of a conflict-free train timetable. This paper presents a discrete-event simulation-based optimization approach for solving the train timetabling problem to minimize total weighted unplanned stop time in a hybrid single and double track railway networks. The designed simulation model is used as a platform for ge...
